Current Employee - Strategy Manager

I have been working at Uber full-time for less than a year

Pros

The work at Uber is extremely impactful and far-reaching. There is a good balance between the feeling of working at a start-up vs. a well organized company. The management team is clear about our... vision, transparent about mistakes, and emphasizes that busy work not related to our key objectives should be avoided. People here are smart, driven, and welcoming. Internal career development is encouraged and there are resources to jump from one function to another if you have the initiative to take advantage. The company also focuses on diversity and inclusion initiatives and appears to be very committed to their goals. No issues except the one I listed below.

Cons

There are a lot of employees at Uber. This often makes it difficult to communicate effectively to those who need to be informed or looped in for approvals. For that reason, you don't always feel like... you've covered all your bases.

Advice to Management

Push for teams to build strong cross-functional working models before executing. Continue being transparent about the vision and mistakes.

I have been working at WorkWave full-time for less than a year

Pros

I really enjoy the flexibility that WorkWave offers and the benefits are great compared to any other company I have worked for. The environment in the office is nice - low drama and everyone helps... each other and is respectful to one another. My favorite part is the creative freedom I experience. At WorkWave I can grow my skill set and exercise creativity. My ideas and contributions are always welcome and that makes me feel like my work matters for the success of the company - as well as establishes trust.

Cons

Not many at all. I really do not have any complaints - I enjoy coming to work and it is my favorite company that I have worked for so far in my career. If I had to say anything - it would cross-team... communication, but that is pretty normal when a company grows to be a certain size.
