I have been working at Shopify full-time for more than a year
Pros
I've never worked at a company that actually cares about their customers as much as Shopify does. Especially being in a sales role, it is so refreshing to know that you, your manager, your... cross-functionals and the senior leaders all literally care about the customer more than just getting a deal over the line. This starts from the top down and it makes your sales role that much more enjoyable, fun, stress-free, etc. Also, there's soo much white-space in APAC right now, so it's a really fun time to be in a sales role here. :) Don't let the remote-life deter you, either. They do a great job at getting people together.
Cons
A massive part of Shopify's growth happened in the last 2 years, so there are a lot of things that don't have structure or a process built-out yet. Like, a lot of things. This can be really... frustrating if you're like, "Who do I go to for that? Or, why is only 1-2 people responsible for this? etc." However, because of this, it's super easy for you to make an impact because lots of things haven't been done before.
Advice to Management
Since we are 100% remote, it's more important than ever that we have more frequent pulse surveys to find out how your people are thinking, feeling and doing.
