Current Employee - Quick Service Cook

I have been working at Rogers Arena part-time

Pros

Get to set a schedule for a month in advance, very flexible job and don't have to answer to any real higher-ups

Cons

You have to work late at night and there isn't much stability, you only get shifts when there are home games so in the offseason there aren't many shifts available

Pros

Diversity embraced as strength and core value Growing self awareness and desire to evolve Dedication and mutual support Impactful projects Smart team and lots of learning opportunities Work.life... balance is a real priority, if not always the case, or possible. Willingness to embrace new ways of working Remote WFH is smooth and trusted

Cons

Learning to scale - some growing pains Hard to compete with tech salaries/market High pressure and industry may not suit all Limited clarity and focus on career growth and path for team members

Advice to Management

Keep focusing on growth, feedback, and finding the right people and nurturing them. Hold onto the strong culture and focus on people, it's really special. Keep finding ways to develop and advance... staff as long term win-win investment. Find ways to reward (bonuses, advancement?) OT and high performers in meaningful ways.
