Former Employee - Postdoctoral Fellow

I worked at Oxford University full-time

Pros

Very rich scientifically environment, bright minds and beautiful city.

Cons

University's support to the PostDoc is not great as it should be. PostDocs are isolated from Colleges system. There is no housing nor family support from the University especially in the case of... non-EU members.

Current Employee - Demonstrator

I have been working at Birmingham City University part-time for more than a year

Pros

Great experience into the work of lectures, constantly learning on the job, making use of spare time by helping other students fulfil their ambitions in the modules and help each student get on the... correct path of learning on each module i worked on.

Cons

sometimes their would be few people in the class to to sufficient work, pay wasn't always on time

Advice to Management

update payment system to demonstrators as they may need the money for rent, bills and food and if not on time has a knock on effect in payments.
