Current Employee - Game Developer

I have been working at Naughty Dog full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

Worked here for over 2-3 years now. Its really been amazing to work here along side the best of the game industry. -Amazing Benefits -Well Pay

Cons

-Crunch hours consisted of staying at the studio for large amounts of time

Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

I have been working at Infinity Ward full-time

Pros

The compensation and benefits. Freedom to give feedback interdepartment. Location has a fair cost of living for the income. Project has breadth and depth, thus interesting challenges. Free food.... Relaxed feel when not crunching.

Cons

The leadership does not seem confident of decisions made. Lacking clear direction in early projects. (Mostly art, some design) Lacking communication of vision thus lacking buy-in from implementers.... Micro managed to some degree in the single player design department. Long crunches last year of each project.

Advice to Management

Wish directors have higher CoD IQ and tastes that's more in line of core audience. At the same time, should understand what is tiring to the audience and what needs advancement. Better... interdepartmental planning to share assets, smart not brute forcing production.
