Former Employee - Registered Early Childhood Educator

I worked at Jacobs full-time for more than 8 years

Pros

Great salary grid and benefits and rrsp package. Great atmosphere and teams. Lots of grow to grow. Paid staff meetings with in house professional developments. Friendly atmosphere. You feel... appreciated.

Cons

split shifts - some people have a hard time finding work life balance while others enjoy a split shift so it all depends what works for you. Lack of supply staff so you feel bad calling in sick as... you know it will put strain on the centre and your coworkers.

Advice to Management

continue to pay your employees well and offer paid professional development as it helps show them you value them and understand that the work they are doing is challenging and rewarding. Stay on top... of supply staff recruitment as it seems as soon as some supply are hired they are almost immediately placed in contracts or part time roles leaving no on call staff.

Former Contractor - Welder "B "Pressure W/Rig

I worked at AECOM

Pros

Steady work if you're willing to work hard.

Cons

Being away from home for long stretches.
