Current Employee - Business Assistant

I have been working at Heartland Dental full-time for more than a year

Pros

Decent pay and benefits, opportunity to move up if you'd like to be in management. Friendly company culture.

Cons

It's a for-profit corporation, so the sales tactics and focus on money can seem weird to someone used to working in healthcare. For example, every morning the office manager reads aloud how much $$... was brought in by each provider.

Former Employee - Operations Leader

I worked at DentalOne Partners full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

The hourly compensation is competitive

Cons

Quality of care takes a backseat to profits. Upper level business management questions decisions made by clinical staff regularly

Advice to Management

A patient who if cared for with compassion, kindness and understanding - actually like family - is a loyal patient who refers other patients. Patients who are presented with high pressure sales... techniques and whose feelings and needs aren't considered, aren't able to truly build trust in their care providers or office teams.
