Current Employee - Assistant Superintendent

I have been working at EllisDon full-time for more than 3 years

Pros

-Great benefits, with decent pay, and lots of room to grow. -They encourage out of the box thinking and new ideas -Despite the nature of the work and potential for long hours, supervisors... proactively ensure you maintain some work/life balance -They promote self advocacy and reward those who excel

Cons

-The nature of the construction industry can call for some demanding hours -There is less structure for promotions, if you are not good at self-advocacy, you may not advance as well as you may think... you deserve

I worked at Barratt Developments

Pros

Large, diverse projects with ample opportunity to have a great deal of input and really make a difference. Plenty of opportunity to progress within the business if committed, hardworking and can... demonstrate good leadership skills. Overall a good place to work, with an acceptable work life balance.

Cons

Due to the size of the company it is quite easy to get lost in a crowd. Some employees take advantage of this and output/ performance can be low.

Advice to Management

Set more measurable kpi’s for individuals.
