Current Employee - Senior Underwriter

Pros

Well respected company in the industry, with endless opportunities. Have only been with the company for a few months, but so far, the companies actions have matched their words. All companies tout... work life balance, the importance of new colleagues, and how each employee "matters". I can truly say Burns & Wilcox backs this up with their actions as well. Being onboarded from home at a new company is always challenging, but I was very impressed with the process. First call on day 1 was with IT to make sure everything was working properly. Then scheduled calls for the next 2 weeks with various other employees to meet your colleagues, as well as to get a feel for the company culture.

Cons

Working at an MGA does impose some challenges and limitations - but the culture is to turn those challenges into opportunities. If you are lacking the capacity to chase certain business, that can be... considered a con, but the culture is to find a solution, if you want to chase that business, go get the capacity and do it!
