How does the scheduling work at a hospital for full time? On the weekends to work would it be two days during the week and the weekend then the next week only work 3 days during the week? Idk why I’m so confused but I need clarification since I’m applying to hospital positions as a new grad lol

Usually every other weekend Saturday/Sunday and one week day The next week will be 3 week days Some places allow you to group your days so you could work friday/sat/sun then Wednesday/Thursday/Friday It’s easier to draw it out on a calendar and see, it also depends what day of the week the work week starts on too..
When I worked hospital it was said during the onboarding, we were required to do one full weekend shift a month. I took a Sun/Mon/Tuesday fixed schedule so that I could meet that requirement and I loved it. I worked nights so that meant I got to go to church on Sunday mornings. With 4 kids, it worked. I'm confused Abbott some of these answers. I hope my experience helps.

It does vary, but typically 3 days one week, 4 the next, with a “3 weekend days per schedule” requirement. Most hospitals I’ve been in do monthly schedules.
Where I’m at it’s work 3 off 2 then work 2 and off 3 so we get 3 day weekends every other week and it’s 12s
While all these comments give you insight to how diversified schedules can be in a healthcare setting, the employer needs to answer this question. I work two days a week and EOW.
Shifts varies by facilities. Some work a 3/2 split, a 5/2 split, a 4/3 split and a 7 on an 7 off schedule. Be sure to ask about the shift schedule, during your interview process.
Usually 36 hours per week is considered FT. (3) 12 hour shifts. Usually required 2 weekends per month (total of 4 weekend days) But that can be broken up. 2 Saturdays & and 2 Sundays for the month and fill in the rest of the week to fulfill your 36 hours per week. Or you could do every Thursday Friday Saturday to meet requirement or every Sunday Monday Tuesday.
