When sending a post interview follow up email to a hiring manager, is it appropriate to address the manager by first name, or is it more appropriate to use Mr. or Ms. X (assuming they have not invited you to address them informally and that their gender identity is clear)
Play it safe and use the name in the email that was sent to you. This way you don’t have to worry about the gender identity. Won’t be offensive in any way.
Like2Mr/Ms to be safe. I have also left name off if I’m sending to a panel of folks and just say good afternoon.
Like3If you know their first name, use that. Mr., Mrs, Ms. are all gender forms.
Like1In the US, it's perfectly acceptable to call the person by their first name, or how they were introduced to you.
Like1Formality only in cover letters. Emails use first names.
LikeIf you are in the US, first name.
LikeDepends on the company culture. If it's tech, almost certainly first name used in their email signature is fine.
