I am hopeful I’ll get an offer soon. I have an upcoming 10-day trip in 2 months and am wondering when is the right time to bring it up/negotiate time off: When they send me the offer? If yes, do I tell HR or try to reach out to the manager? When I start the job? A few days after I start?
Your interview was a better place, so you can discuss your time off. If it'd be unpaid, etc. When they send an offer letter, you can ask to extend your start date due to a previously planned vacation. Or ask how you'd be able to get the time off before signing the offer
Like3Sign the offer first. Then discuss the start date move or unpaid leave. Don’t give people additional things to weigh up outside of your interview performance.
Like15I’m in recruitment. I think at offer is appropriate. 2 weeks is long but if you’re anything above entry level it should be able to be negotiated.
Like5Nothing to worry about at all. I’ve done this multiple times. When I accepted my current offer, I let the hiring manager know I had three upcoming pre-planned trips over the course of 4 months. HR told my direct supervisor, and I reminded my supervisor on my first day. We worked around it with ease. You were not obligated to disclose that during your interviews. I’m rooting for you to get that offer!!
