What other career paths can a process engineer jump to? I’m a little burnt out at my job and feel like looking around now that I’ve been at the same company after graduation now for a while. How have your guys careers transpired? Just looking for inspiration, thanks.
I recently switched to salary, and my workload exploded. Suddenly, everything is "urgent," so I'm working 2–3 hours of unpaid overtime at home every night. The company is billing the client for my extra hours, but I'm not seeing any of it. How do I bring this up with management? I'd rather not keep working for free.
I just wrapped up my first year as an engineer at a small firm. I've been here since graduating, but got a standard review and zero raise. I always thought a 2-3% annual bump for inflation was standard practice, separate from merit. Is this typical for smaller firms, or is it a sign I need to start looking around? What do you guys think?
you have many options. what industry are you in and how would you describe your frustration with it?
It depends on your interest really. I think having an Engineering degree gives you some options (eg project management, product dev, research, sales, etc). What are the things that you enjoy in your work? What do you think you will enjoy? Look at your skillset and assess what are transferrable.
I think so many to choose from. You could try roles in project management, operations or even technical consulting. It's all about finding the right fit for your skills and interests.
