Has anyone taken a mental health/stress leave and are they paid? I am suffering but can’t afford not having a paycheck.
When do we officially stop being young professionals? I've been thinking of myself as a young professional this whole time, but I'm 38. Can I still claim to be young?
I'm leaving Deloitte, but my new job doesn't start until mid-July. When should I put in my notice? The last time I gave an employer a full two weeks' notice, I was fired that day. I don't want to be without a check. I've only been here three months, and haven't seen how my managers handle it when someone puts in their notice. Is Deloitte known for letting people work through their notice period?
💭 How/when do you disclose that you were let go from your last job in an interview?
Thoughts on romantic relationships at work? Does your firm have a policy on this? We can't help who we are attracted to, develop feelings for, etc. And, yes I've been involved with my boss on and off for almost 10 years. Some suspect us, but we've kept it to ourselves. Don't beat me up too badly.
Marry rich...
Well im not on PIP yet, but if I get s bad review during busy season I most likely will be. Feel like I've slowly been improving and working hard. Oh well
Auditing does suck. I audit tax provisions and dread it every time. Don't know how people do it day to day.
Financial planning and analysis
Sugar mama dude!
Surprise you weren't let go. With the firings happening at EY.
Been doing it for 1.5 years, do not want to be a senior in anyway but also don't want to be a staff accountant in industry and essentially start over
I'm a guy... fuck

accounting is very different from auditing. you should do accounting, much easier
What's pip
PIP = Performance Improvement Plan
If you hate audit and have been doing audit for 3+ busy seasons, consider trying a different firm (if it's the people) or a different line of service.
Just take the 15-20% pay increase and go into industry. If you are already ready to give it up there's no point in putting in the effort to bounce back from Pip to promotable
You'll be fine. Or not. Don't worry too much & do your best. Don't let your team convince you that 75 hour weeks are normal just because you're afraid of the threat of a PIP. There is more to life than work.
Auditing is mind numbing. Have no idea how people do it honestly.

Lmk when you find out
Men can marry rich too
If you hate audit and have been in audit 2 years or less try industry.
