What does a VP-Technology do?
Technology managers coordinate information systems in locations including companies, government agencies, nonprofits, and other organizations. They ensure the organization’s computer hardware, software, and database management systems, internet servers, and telecommunication services are working properly. They coordinate and configure the systems to ensure they are performing at optimal speed.
Technology managers meet with management teams to discuss how information technology will help the organization achieve its latest goals, and they train end-users on operating software and databases. As leaders of tech support teams, they oversee installation of hardware and software and train the systems’ end users. They also strive to integrate various information systems. Technology managers have a bachelor’s degree in technology management, computer science, management information systems, or information technology. Some technology managers also have technology certification for their specific industry, including financial management. Some have completed the management of technology certificate or relevant degree programs through a college or a university.

- Conduct weekly one on one and regular team meetings.
- Conduct design and code reviews to ensure compliance with standards.
- System engineering skills to decompose technical solutions into effective cost models.
- Ensure that all components of the IT infrastructure are maintained appropriately.
- Build confidence and inspire support through a convincing presentation style.
- Develop and maintain standard and subscription reports for obtaining statistics and demographics from the organizations software suite.
- Requires both strategic planning and tactical execution.
- Actively develop new approaches and opportunities for expanding customer base.
- Document software policies, procedures, data standards/flows and change orders for new or revised database functions.
- Ensure hardware and software operate in conformance with specifications.
- Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, food science or electronic technology, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with BIM, Agile, R Language, IVR, SQL, SOC, and GIS software and systems.
- Experience with the software development life cycle.
- Prior experience in a consulting position.
- Fluency in business case development and enterprise resource planning.
- A collaborator and problem solver with strict attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in surveying and frameworks as well as computing and terminations.
