What does an Implementation Analyst do?

Implementation analysts deploy software and business functions across organizations and set up computer systems and software when a company is getting started or upgrading its technology. They are responsible for assessing a company’s technological needs and determining the relevant hardware and software. They ensure the company has the appropriate equipment to meet operational needs by assessing its intentions for use. They prepare a budget for the proposed equipment or tailor recommendations to fit an already-established budget.

Implementation analysts meet with clients to discuss their priorities and explain their options and may also participate in creating new software to meet company needs. They verify that new systems and software are implemented effectively and test systems to ensure they work properly. They may also be involved with training staff on using new hardware and software and determining how companies can improve their technology systems to ensure they are meeting its needs effectively. Implementation analysts need a bachelor's degree in computer science and strong computer and programming skills.
