They can provide medical advice and offer guidance on preventative care and healthy lifestyle habits such as diet and exercise.

Family medicine physicians must have earned at least an MD or DO designation. They must make patient safety, care, and comfort their top priorities. They must be board certified and have a valid license to practice in their state. An assortment of background checks and other screenings and clearances are also required. Requires excellent communication skills.
