    Union don't do much although they do deduct fees automatically from your biweekly paycheque.

    The benefits are standard, EI, and CPP contributions. For the faculty there might be dental and vision plans and also access to the recreational facilities.

    The graduate student insurance covers most things like dental and eyeglasses. However most things are only 80% covered and nothing brand name. For example, my dentist used a fancy filling material and I had the nasty surprise of it not being covered.

    Tuition waiver for the employees is great, extended healthcare benefits could be better. Some benefits exist only on paper, like the variable work week for APSA employees. This benefit is left to your supervisor to decide.

    The best was definitely the flexibility. As a part time employee you are allotted a set hour allocation ranging from 5 to 20 hours generally. However, supplemental shifts are frequently and can be picked up to further supplement your income
