Tuition waiver for the employees is great, extended healthcare benefits could be better. Some benefits exist only on paper, like the variable work week for APSA employees. This benefit is left to your supervisor to decide.

The best was definitely the flexibility. As a part time employee you are allotted a set hour allocation ranging from 5 to 20 hours generally. However, supplemental shifts are frequently and can be picked up to further supplement your income

The benefits are standard, EI, and CPP contributions. For the faculty there might be dental and vision plans and also access to the recreational facilities.

Best thing was they covered my MSP which was super great! Other benefit includes extended health plan etc, but I didn't have a chance to use them since my employment was only 8 months.

Its scant to non-existent for contract and temporary employees who should actually be full employees based on legal definition. Skirting the law to get cheap talent.

I was on a semesterly (4 month contract). No benefits provided in terms of Health Care or Dental. SFU did provide training that costed money and also you get SFU staff perks such as gym membership at the school.
