PTO is very flexible, you can take only couple of hours if needed.
Easy to track your allocation of vacation and paid time off using on-line tools, but it's also easy to not fully use up these days due to workload, schedulling conflicts with internal and external stake holders. I knew quite a few colleagues including me, who never took our full allocation due to workloads. You generally can't carry these over year over year but there are exceptions for certain field services groups to convert these to pay in lieu of time off.
