Payroll deductions were needed for more than basic cover
I began working with IBEW 424 in the year 2003. One of the benefits for a unionized contractor is that their company has access to a well-trained pool of skilled workers that are ready, able, and willing to work. When a project demands more manpower, IBEW always produces. On the other hand, when a project is winding down, layoff’s is never an issue; this is the all familiar nature of being a unionized employee with IBEW 424. However, there are those occasions when a company has projects that run back to back. When this occurs it is normal for a company not to layoff but rather transfer those electricians that have already proven themselves in the previous project.
