Yes I got work from home when I most needed it.
Flexibility to work from home. and often asked for. Though it requires a dedicated phone line. And IBM is not willing to compensate for the cost
This is changing. I believe working from home is still possible but being cut back on. It went to far and we lost all cohesion as teams. Leadership knows those who work from home work harder and longer than they could in the office, but there needs to be a balance of both. With both, employees will still have the flexibility they need for work life balance to avoid health issues, but also the structure and support that comes from working within a team you see in person on a regular basis.
They use to support this, then, in a form of constructive dismissal forced employees to go to an office. Convenient or not.
Excellent. I worked at home for 7 years with occasional went to the office for meet.
IBM has moved to a new co-location (on-site) model in 3 main cities. As a result, the work from home model is being eliminated. It is another phase that IBM is going through, and they will likely go back to the remote model in time. The remote teams offered the flexibility to the teams needed to have the best resource for the job, without geography restriction, but that is now gone. This was a 4 star rating, but now the option is gone so 1 star as a result of the elimination of the model.

remote work is promoted these days - in fact, the Waterloo ON office was closed due to pushing people to work from home and cost cutting invoked from the US - this kills the team spirit, as it isolates people and creates an uncaring work environment
Position directly effected if you could work from home. Also depended on your management. Some mgt frown on work from home.
It was very flexible on that, but now more strict
