Hi guys! I’m currently in the middle of pivoting to an SDE role. I’m a manager at Amazon, and took some time off to join an accelerated software engineering program. I know it’s a tough time for junior devs right now, any advice for someone looking to pivot? How do you stand out and make a notable difference? Ideally I’d like to transfer over to AWS since I’m already in the company.

Amazon recently announced a mandate for everyone to RTO. My family has been planning to relocate out of Seattle due to personal reasons. I’ve been looking for new jobs, remote and in our new location, but slim pickings (and highly competitive right now). I’ll likely need to take a pay cut or sacrifice some benefits. Is it worth waiting it out until the market is better or should I just go for it so we can move on with our lives? FWIW, I realize this is a total first world problem. TIA.
