After a year at my consultancy job in a bank, I expected a positive appraisal. However, the client's manager gave me a low rating mentioned communication issues. Despite positive feedback from other manager and colleagues, HR refused an appraisal. They promised to reevaluate but never did. Feeling undervalued, I contemplate resigning to negotiate fair compensation since no appraisal was given. Anyone can give suggestions what shall I do.

I work for an agency that I don’t trust. They make the yearly bonus dependent on billable days, but every time I open the door for a client they replace me with a nearshore at a lower rate. One replacement went very badly and the client requested to only work with me. Now that I saved it, they want to replace me again with a nearshore because the “client only agreed to the nearshore rate”. Is there a smooth way to ask a client if they’ll hire me directly, or is that too distasteful?
