I worked at eBay Enterprise full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Team collaboration is a big deal at eBay Enterprise. If you are able to develop solid relationships and navigate the social/political waters, you will do fine. Most managers are good about developing a solid relationship with their teams and assuming a mentor role. For the most part, management is good at developing people. The work is meaningful and challenging.

    Cons

The culture is still reminiscent of the GSI days. While eBay Inc. has tried hard to bring eBay Enterprise under their umbrella the cultural differences are just to vast. Gossip is the norm and if you fall outside of the social group you will find yourself isolated. There were some changes made but the churn and burn culture still remains. Work/life balance is nonexistent. If you are not in the Corp office, be prepared to say goodbye to your family at Thanksgiving until the holiday rush is over. Seven day work weeks and 12+ hour days are the norm during Q4. If you are in an exempt level role they do expect you to be plugged in via your phone or laptop during your "down time". It is an expectation that you are readily available to field calls and emails from internal clients and leadership during evening hours and even while on vacation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Try hard to understand the cultural challenges that are poisoning the work environment. To many high performers burn out and find themselves pulled under by it.

    I worked at eBay Enterprise

    Pros

There are many great, talented people. Good location in the South Bay. Some schedule flexibility (depending on your manager)

    Cons

Senior management makes decisions without fully considering their employees. Compensation is not competitive. Competent employees are expected to pick up slack for the dead weight

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Let the dead weight staff go. Pay your employees fairly.

I worked at eBay Enterprise full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Great teams. Hard working people who care about eachother. Benefits were very competitive. Energy is big and there are social activities and laughs. A fun culture with plenty of happy hrs and bagel wednesdays. The job teaches a ton of skills and disciplines you.

    Cons

Projects are left in the hands of anyone but the management. No guidance is given and there is nowhere to ask for help or backup.

Work life balance in non-existent regardless of the vacation days given, you will always be logged on. Clients dont know the lack of attention on some accounts. Promotions are far and few and starting salary is low. Barely anyone stays for more than a few years and once someone leaves everyone gets screwed. They do not hire replacements, or they place the rare new hires on confusing assignments.

Executives are constantly swapping out, the last just left for a trading offense. Theres no trust in most managers because they aren't effective. The vision for the company as a whole is not integrated well across KOP & other offices. There is a lot of confusion on who is responsible for what, especially if there is performance compensation involved.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Get clearer communication between the big guys and you. HIRE people to help the workload. Stop relying on the same people so they dont burn out. Help your own grow instead of a revolving door because clients feel it.

I have been working at eBay Enterprise

    Pros

    - Part of the eBay family but has a fun 'startup' feel
    - Lot's of opportunity as there has been org changes over the past year
    - Hitting the market with a cutting edge platform early 2015...

    Cons

    - Still some growing pains / adjustments to org structure, but the team is working on it

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Keep pushing the new platform and leverage it to bring in new business in 2015
    - Listen to your A players, take care of them and have them knowledge share with some of the new folks to keep operations moving
