Current Employee – been working at comScore
Pros – Very intelligent, bright work force.
Cons – Salaries are below market in a very expensive area to live.
Advice to Senior Management – Try to maintain small startup culture. The 2% matching on the 401(k) is pitiful.

Pros – There are a great number of opportunities across the company, providing a diverse range of experiences and client/industry exposure. comScore has a strong college recruiting program and is getting better at promoting from within. The culture across US offices is fun & relaxed. Most offices have strong sense of community and many employees are friends away from the office. Happy hours are oft-occurring and office events are generally well-attended and enjoyable. Benefits are awesome, considering the current state of the economy and the cuts many companies have had to make. My experience has been mostly positive and I've experienced significant career growth.
Cons – comScore has grown very rapidly in the past few years, mostly via acquisitions. The company still operates like a start-up in many ways and as more products, technology, capabilities, etc. have been added to the comScore portfolio, it hasn't been matched with equal focus & organization. There is a ton of ambiguity, a lack of defined process and little continuity across products and teams. While the benefits package is strong, salaries are lower than can be found at other companies in the industry.

Former Employee – worked at comScore
Pros – Its a good resume builder as comScore is the "gold standard" for web analytics
Cons – Difficult to move up in the company and salaries are on the lower end of the spectrum.
Advice to Senior Management – The SVPs are tremendously over-paid and playing favorites is ridiculous and disrespectful.

Former Employee – worked at comScore
Pros – wonderful, friendly coworkers; good opportunities to work with lots of research data collected from millions of global sources; very inexpensive healthcare premiums
Cons – very little growth opportunities for anyone hired in the past 3 years; 2 layoffs in the past 3 years; weak 401k matching (max of 1.5% of salary with 5 year vesting)
Advice to Senior Management – Get expenses under control. 30% revenue is great, but expenses are growing much faster. Accept slower, smarter growth instead of spurts of fast growth followed by layoffs, hiring freezes, or salary reductions or freezes.

Current Employee – been working at comScore
Pros – location, co-workers (easy place to make friends)
Cons – you can be in the same job role for years and no one will care to promote or fire you...there's a wide level of accepted mediocrity here.
little recognition for efforts
departments are segregrated and rarely interact with each other
no room for advancement if you're in a small group
Salary is sub par compared to responsibilities
Bad senior management with no leadership capacity
Managers need to develop their staff
Advice to Senior Management – recognize your peoples efforts, don't bring in new hires with higher salaries and titles for work others have done and are doing for less pay and recognition.

Current Employee – been working at comScore
Pros – Innovative product line with impressive technical advancements. Small company / team dynamic with big company presence. comScore is an authority in their field.
Cons – Selection of management has nothing to do with an ability to lead. Compensation is competitive at best, but usually below market in areas that count the most.
Advice to Senior Management – Scale the company at all departments, to meet the challenges of rapid, positive growth. Provide resources where needed, to ensure product line maximizes its potential.

Former Employee – worked at comScore
Pros – Solid work/life balance. Employees with ambition will get opportunities to prove themselves. (especially early on) Exciting industry to work in and lots of interesting products.
Cons – Hero culture. Working hard and delivering consistent results won't get you noticed. Must find a way to get assigned to new initiatives and/or be in the club to move up.
Advice to Senior Management – Talk to employees outside of your circle of collegues.
