I worked at Wendy's part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Perfect first job, learning cash handling, teamwork skills, interpersonal and customer service skills.
    - Policies and procedures are simple, straightforward and make operations easy.

    Cons

    - Low pay rate for sometimes intense work, depends on store volume.
    - Some managers and staff don't take the job more seriously than others, making it difficult to work as a team in some instances.
    - Not a whole lot in the way of employee motivation.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay a littler more or have daily incentives for performance - free meal for most up sizes sold, or best timers etc.

    I worked at Wendy's

    Pros

Great coworkers. Best social atmosphere of a fast food job I've ever experienced, for the most part. Training is sufficient and you will know how to do your job. They pay on time and on the books. Flexibility. Work, life balance. Cashiering experience. Customer Service experience.

    Cons

It's a minimum wage fast food job. Not much career advancement. Some workers can be harrasing and have negative, if not abusive attitudes. Company doesn't make an effort to retain employes, fires at will. Jumps to conclusions. Needs to go that extra mile in keeping people around and avoiding the high turn over rate.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't dismiss employes so easily. Give them a chance to right wrongs and learn from mistakes. You throw away one too many good workers for correctible issues!

I worked at Wendy's part-time for less than a year

    Cons

You receive a raise on each half year you worked for the location I worked at.

I worked at Wendy's part-time for more than a year

    Pros

Uniforms provided. Shifts with lots of hours especially if closing. Clean work environment that adheres to health standards.

    Cons

The burgers are frozen contrary to what advertisements say.
The uniforms are awful, do not expect the pants to fit properly. Especially if you are a woman with any sort of shape. Upper management within the stores are typically terrible and incompetent, perhaps they do not pay enough to entice good management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

McDonalds appears to have great programs for students and those that wish to advance. Very bright people do come in and out of your company and you would be best to find a way to utilize them and keep them.
