    I can honestly say there were not any pros to working for this company. Very unfortunate how poorly they treat their employees.

    Cons

    This company does not value or respect their employees. To start, I had terrible training and was thrown onto the phones with little to no support. They have unreal and unfair expectations for their employees and do not provide support or assistance when needed. I was thrown into a very busy and very difficult department that was short staffed. Management changed shortly after I started and new rules and regulations were put into place. I was so stressed out from the job that it began to effect my physical and mental state. When I approached management for some guidance and help I was told I was not cut out for the job and this is the nature of a busy call center. I was eventually let go because I had to call out during one of our massive snow storms and it was not safe for me to drive. Apparently a recent policy change did NOT excuse weather related absences and I was expected to come into work.
    Some of the other reviews mentioned the insurance plans offered were good. This is absolutely NOT the case. The "best" insurance plan offered was one with a high deductible and a 20% coinsurance. As for the pay, it is absolutely criminal what the rate of pay is. I honestly hope no one ever experiences what I did working for this company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Please make sure employees are properly trained before throwing them on to the phones. Please also take into consideration that we are human beings who have lives outside of work and unfortunately there are situations that are unavoidable and compassion and consideration goes a long way.

    I worked at WellPoint full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

    Working at this company I was able to grow a lot as a professional. I originally worked for Amerigroup, who was acquired by WellPoint. Throughout the entire transition I felt secure and well-informed. Excellent benefits, flexibility, and great work/life balance.

    Cons

    Hard to move within the company.

    Keep doing what you're doing. Employees feel safe and can trust you.
