I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team of people who are willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Excellent compensation and benefits.

    Cons

Very little to no training for new staff. Too much interference from senior management who do not let their team do their jobs. An environment where you always have to CYA.

I worked at Walt Disney Company as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

A worldwide entertainment phenomenon, Disney is one of the best possible employer names to associate with your career for future employment. The portfolio of brands is second to none, and Disney has a proven track record of creating magical consumer experiences. The culture is very fun and energetic, and the people are as cheerful and fantastic as you would imagine. Pre-screenings, toy sales, and other perks abound as it is quite a glamorous employer.

    Cons

The compensation as an intern was quite poor, as they know they don't need to pay fair wages to attract top talent. Also, the opportunities for career growth in the Canadian office were almost non-existent as it was already a lean structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find more opportunities to retain new talent with a rotational graduate program or more structured employee evaluations at the end of internships.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good benefits and reasonable pay. A challenging work environment.

    Cons

No work/life balance. This place eats managers for lunch so the vision/plan at the group level is always changing. The review system is just a box to be checked by the managers.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Make the review process work both ways, some of the managers are truly awful and need a lot more guidance.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

This company holds their brand at a high standard, and they take care of their employees. It was a team oriented company.

    Cons

There was not a lot of room to grow unless you moved to a different state.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recognize employees more with their hard work, but other than that, management is great.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The chance to represent a world-wide respected brand as The Walt Disney Company on a local level was an experience I couldn't have found anywhere else.

    Cons

Lots of weekend work. Long hours. Struggle keeping sales team. Some work locations would be hours away throughout Michigan or Ohio.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Be open to change and please be prompt on all communication. Easy to let things slip through the cracks.
