I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great team of people who are willing to do what it takes to get the job done. Excellent compensation and benefits.

    Cons

Very little to no training for new staff. Too much interference from senior management who do not let their team do their jobs. An environment where you always have to CYA.

I worked at Walt Disney Company as an intern (more than an year)

    Pros

A worldwide entertainment phenomenon, Disney is one of the best possible employer names to associate with your career for future employment. The portfolio of brands is second to none, and Disney has a proven track record of creating magical consumer experiences. The culture is very fun and energetic, and the people are as cheerful and fantastic as you would imagine. Pre-screenings, toy sales, and other perks abound as it is quite a glamorous employer.

    Cons

The compensation as an intern was quite poor, as they know they don't need to pay fair wages to attract top talent. Also, the opportunities for career growth in the Canadian office were almost non-existent as it was already a lean structure.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Find more opportunities to retain new talent with a rotational graduate program or more structured employee evaluations at the end of internships.

I worked at Walt Disney Company full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There's a reputation for a reason. The training, care, details, time, effort, all of it...absolutely worth every second of my life and I suggest everyone at some point in their lives work for Disney.

    Cons

Hours can be a little extensive at times, but that's to be expected in any hospitality industry.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Balance the needs of the guest with the needs of the team and business more.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company

    Pros

Disney welcomes and values individual contributions and has a very good career development plan for employees. There are a lot of opportunities to grow with the company.

    Cons

The schedule is very demanding if you work in a center so that tends to limit how many years you can stay with the company.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior Management is very good at recognizing achievement - rewarding achievement - and getting career development plans correct. However a policy of deliberately pushing managers who are already achieving good results is not a formula that will keep people over the long term.
