Current Employee – been working at Walmart Stores full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Large Company with state of the art technology. Business Plans in place at all times. Great resource and reference system. Friendly Associates and Management to work with.
Cons – Long hours. Expected but not stated to work longer than paid hours as Management. Lack of proper training for Associates as the Company has grown faster than available workforce. Communication with different Depts in Home Office (Planning and Distribution mostly) needs work.
Advice to Senior Management – Listen not only to your Associates but to your Management Team from the Store Manager on down.

Current Employee – been working at Walmart Stores part-time for less than a year
Pros – I was offered a slightly higher salary because I was in university vs high school. Fellow cashiers were very willing to switch shifts to help each other out.
Cons – Unlike floor workers, cashiers' breaks are scheduled for specific times to avoid everyone taking their break at the same time, however CSMs would often change the schedules to the point where they were unreasonable. For a 5-hour shift, management would schedule breaks roughly half way into the shift but CSMs would often send us on break after being there for only 45 minutes leaving us with 4 hours of straight work.
Advice to Senior Management – Reduce the freedom of the CSMs to change schedules

Former Employee – worked at Walmart Stores part-time for more than a year
Pros – Consistent scheduling.
It's a job.
Cons – Terrible Management.
The Associates are all depressed and rude because they work at Wal-Mart. These are people who are literally trapped by circumstance and have been forced to work for a company they hate with no prospects of a real career.
Advice to Senior Management – Some of the management are actually good people. Run from Walmart and go somewhere you are valued
