I have been working at WS Atkins full-time for less than a year

Pros – Large organisation with superb HR and employee investment. Great training and support from managers. Opportunities to grow your career in any direction.
It is an amazing place to meet with world leading engineers in almost any discipline form aviation to zoology (maybe). The whole culture is focussed on being the best.

Cons – Too many business units, difficult to collaborate with other business units.
Easy to step on other units accounts without realising there is an existing relationship. Often this relationship is working in an entirely different part of the customer's organisation with limited customer links from one part to the other.

Advice to Senior Management – Going in the right direction.

Cons – Not much. Maybe the IT could be slicker, but still good.

Pros – Mostly an extremely clever and talented bunch

Cons – Some of the worst management ever. Full of pre-existing cliques. Back-stabbing ethos.

Advice to Senior Management – Consider the talent level of some of your senior managers/directors. Go on, take a step back and look at them. Some are way beyond their abilities.

Pros – The best company that I work for. The Site Operation Management is great, and there is a room for career advancement within the organization.

Cons – slow in giving the site staff salary increment

Advice to Senior Management – Management is to look into the salary range per category/Discipline within the region and adjust accordingly

Pros – Being part of a valued company that promotes growth in the engineering, architecture, and consulting (AEC) industries. Opportunity for advancement and involvement in the community. Great administrative support team (HR, IT, Acctg/Finance, Legal)

Cons – The environment is a bit shaky since Atkins acquired PBS&J in 2010-- There have been several executive leadership changes in the last 2 years. Divisions are highly accountable to meet budget numbers given the economic conditions. However, it still retains a strong presence in the AEC industry and provides achievable challenges.

Pros – Nice people, good management of people. Good opportunities if you chase them. Good reputation with clients and other competitors.

Cons – Limited opportunities to move between departments due to their nature as separate business units. Different departments can be very different so reviews will not always be applicable.
