I worked at Vivo (Brazil) full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

As the leading company in the market, it has a lot of resources to invest in marketing and in technology, so it's a great place to learn from. There you'll work with different iniatives and tools, such as vast market research, strong BI and diverse media plans.

    Cons

Since the company was bought by Telefonica, the corporate culture has been changing and the company is less autonomous. Many decisions depend on global alignment which takes time and not necessarily is the best for the local market.

    Recommends
    Neutral Outlook
    Disapproves of CEO

    Great company

Former Employee - Marketing in São Paulo, São Paulo (Brazil)

I worked at Vivo (Brazil) full-time

    Pros

You get to learn a lot. There are lots of opportunities for those who work pro-actively. Internal movements is also common. Salary is comparable to industry rates, hence smaller than other industries. Promotions happen, especially in new areas.

    Cons

Culture is very "corporate". Lots of processes and some bureaucracy. Beware if you don't tolerate that. Cafeteria is not great. It has never been. If you are a 9-6 type of employee, don't expect to be promoted quickly.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The industry is mature - work hard on providing great customer service. Focus on customer and keep doing what you are doing.

Political relationships, more than meritocracy, define career progress. There is no career plan
    Salaries below average
Increasing Spanish interference reduces Brazilian autonomy

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Meritocracy and a career plan would improve the company's response to the increasing challenges that the telecom sector is facing.

Many different kind of plataforms to work and good benefits to the employers.Depending on the position and department you are located it can be good.

    Cons

Many very unreliable people , mainly almost all the managers. All are governed by a dirty personal conduct and forget how they really should be.

Development and relationship: special devices are a GREAT market opportunity!

I have been working at Vivo (Brazil)

    Pros

Good place to work: nice work environment, interesting challenges, good benefits, salary not so bad, but carrier planning not so clear....

    Cons

As any workplace, there are some problems: workflow approval is slow, everybody avoids taking risk on decision, and there are some decisions that are not so clear....

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

It is regarding management style: why is not possible to share the information with the Team? Why is necessary to "hide" the decision reason? Sometimes is really difficult to understand some decisions because there´s no official information about that.....
