Current Employee – been working at University of Waterloo full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Great pension and health coverage
Ability to take free university course per semester
Many career training opportunities
35 hour work week
Cons – Lower salary than public sector
Depending on department, 35 hours may not be a regular work week
Advice to Senior Management – There are quite a few people in centralized services (IST, computing support for example) who should by no means be in their roles. There is a lot of ability for people to 'coast' through their career which should not be encouraged at all. Manage the central service groups better.

Current Employee – been working at University of Waterloo
Pros – i live on campus. i like being a student because i can have summers off and im not in co-op so i don't have to work all the time.
Cons – it is stressful, i sometimes don't have enough time to go groccery shopping because of this and i have to buy unhealthy cafeteria food.
Advice to Senior Management – you could try caring more about individual students and realizing that instead of bell curving a midterm or exam, you could actually fix your course.

Current Employee – been working at University of Waterloo
Pros – you have your own office; work with students, professors, and other researchers; living cost in Waterloo is low; close to banks, doctor's office, dentist, restaurants.
Cons – quite difficult to get a permanent position as an external applicant; the hiring policies are not very clear.
Advice to Senior Management – hopefully when some questions related to hiring are asked in Human Resource department, someone in HR could be able to answer them instead of asking us to go back and ask our faculty stuff.
