I have been working at University of California Berkeley full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Excellent science being done here. Great faculty, multiple nobel laureates and a beautiful campus. There is so much diversity in the student population and the kinds of research being done on campus. Benefits are excellent and the Berkeley lifestyle is awesome.

    Cons

Parking sucks as with any university and way too many undergraduates. The pension program while attractive to many, doesn't float my boat. I'd rather invest in my own employer matched retirement, rather than contributing a mandatory 8% to the pension program.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Distribute the massive amount of funding you get. Reduce tuition.
