I have been working at Travelers Companies part-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

they care about the employees and reward their hard work very well. They have great product and good customer service...

    Cons

so far, i have not noticed much of con's except for some of the benefits.. they are good but different than what we used to have at Dominion.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I worked at Travelers Companies full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The environment and culture in our department was great, there was a perfect balance of work and life. It felt like a family and it made it difficult to leave. The work was consistent and the company doesn't like to fire people so they will find a new position for you if you need more to do. They also value go-getters so the more confident you are the better off you'll be.

    Cons

With most people having been there for 5 years+ there is not much room for advancement. You can get a "senior" in front of your title but not a change in position. The benefits is alright but compared to other companies, it's not much.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't be afraid to manage, some people see your relaxed attitude and take advantage of it. The favoritism is obvious to everyone and sometimes they are deserved but please learn to value those who are loyal and doing great work as well.

Not in tune with what employees want and need. I would be a better employee if I had more work life balance.

I worked at Travelers Companies as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

They had a good program for interns and they really wanted to see you succeed, that is if you did well and were actively engaged.

    Cons

Once you're done with the company you need to have good relationships to be able to get into a work/role in the company. If you didn't have good connections and you finished your internship, I would say that it is really hard to get into the company!
