I have been working at Time Warner full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Great people, higher than average compensation at Corporate.

    Cons

The culture is resistant to change and there aren't enough female leaders to effect gender diversity, especially in the senior management ranks.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Invest in your most valuable assets - its people. Identify those employees who have demonstrated good work and ambition to do more by challenging them and promoting them to be in non-traditional roles to help them learn the business. Promote gender and race diversity to shift the culture to embrace change and drive innovation of thought. There are many "old timers" in key decision-making positions who are obtuse to implicit biases against women.

Former Employee - TWCAP Summer in New York, NY (US)

I worked at Time Warner as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Great location at 59th and Columbus (can't beat looking out into central park on sunny days)
Leading media company = awesome name on a resume
Lots of fun activities going on every week
Free premieres to new Warner Bros movies and tv shows
Young workforce for the most part, and really chill fun work environment to be in

    Cons

Hours can get kinda long depending on department you're in
    Over-priced cafeteria
For a 21st century media company....the building sure hasn't kept pace.....way to corporate looking!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As an intern I had a wonderful experience in my department so there isn't much I can say really.

For those of you looking to join this company though...keep in mind the offices are shifting to Hudson Yards in 2018...and as per managements word...there will be a lot more "shared working spaces" (aka downsizing) so just something to consider.

I have been working at Time Warner full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

People at Time Inc are great. Everyone is smart, knowledgeable about the industry and works very hard. The company is ahead of the game within the digital stratosphere. Great at diversifying the company.

    Cons

They don't make it particularly easy to move between titles. They would bring an outsider in before shifting internally. Trying to get a promotion is like pulling teeth!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow employees to make internal shifts at least after a year. It will keep things fresh and keep bodies inside the building.
