Current Employee – been working at The Children's Place part-time for more than a year

Former Employee – worked at The Children's Place part-time for less than a year
Pros – As long as you do your job well, they give you no trouble when you really can't show up to work.
Cons – Total disorganization.
Terrible leaders.
Bad planning on week schedules for hourly employees. I ended up working 3 hours a week!
No formal training.
I saw the store manager 3 times at the most in 3 months I worked there.
No uniforms, no general guidelines as to how to help customers. Rude employees get away with it.
The sign of the store was broken the whole 3 months I worked there.
Equipment did not work and the store manager did not excell in having it repaired.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire real leaders to manage the stores.

Current Employee – been working at The Children's Place full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Discount, Cute clothes,Customers are great!
Cons – Too few payroll hours, too heavy of a workload.
Advice to Senior Management – With payroll cuts must come workload cuts. The "Work The Plan" expectations are unrealistic. Managers are expected to complete the majority of the tasking, while operating on a 2 coverage. Floorset & windows change too often, and we dont get enough payroll to complete these projects.
– I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Current Employee – been working at The Children's Place part-time for more than a year
Pros – The team works well together. The company offers flexible schedules. The employees receive average pay for their positions.
Cons – Too much favoritism - employees should be promoted and rewarded based on quality of work and experience, not "who you know". Also, store managers should have experience and knowledge of the company and it's products before being promoted to store manager. I do not think it is right for a company to have it's team associates training the management.

Former Employee – worked at The Children's Place part-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Discount on clothes for your children
Cons – This company pays way too little and expects way too much.I worked there for a total of 5 years and I was there longer than all of the other employees combined. High turnover usually means not a good company to work for. In this case that was very true. It worked for me until they changed the availability requirements. I no longer met the requirements so I was thrown away without so much as a thank you.
Advice to Senior Management – Please think about the people that actually run your stores and not just $$$$ dollar signs.

Former Employee – worked at The Children's Place full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Resources and tools to help drive business were accessible.
Cons – Hours are minimal for the amount of tasks that are expected daily. As we know retail can be a very challenging job when it comes to hours allocation to the stores tasks. TCP never supported the store to complete floorsets, markdowns, pos sale set up, and shipment processing. Leaving very little focus or even actual associates to provide any kind of customer experience.
Assortment of clothing each season do not change much. Repeat customers would get frustrated seeing the same items over and over again.
Advice to Senior Management – Look at the hours given to stores. Visit store unannounced to see the real picture. So much payroll goes into store visits from RM and above when in reality all stores should be visit ready at all times. Invest in the stores so that customer service truly can be a focus over the task.
A training program for management candidates is desperately needed. Get all management to be on same page during the on boarding process.

Current Employee – been working at The Children's Place full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – summer hours, lots of PTO and vacation days
Cons – lots of overtime, they need more people but they keep cutting budgets so you are just expected to get all the work done no matter how much overtime it requires.
Advice to Senior Management – you need to have monthly meetings with EVERY member of your team, not just your direct reports. One bad supervisor can ruin an entire department and managers are clueless to what goes on behind the scenes when the supervisor just blows smoke up their ases.

Former Employee – worked at The Children's Place full-time for more than a year
Pros – The stores are cute and design very well, it allows you to get to know your customers on a first name basis.
Cons – Doesn't develop its managers or its associates talent wise, and has unrealistic workloads, upper management unaware of what's happening in their stores. Not a team oriented company. High turnover with Associates due to livable hours, no benefits or vacation sick time for associates. Work life balance is almost nonexistent.
Advice to Senior Management – This company has too many chiefs not enough Indians, management needs to make somebody in charge and allowing them to hold other accountable, there too many people doing one person's job. Take care of your leads in your associates they are the heart and soul of your company.
