I have been working at Team Health full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Gives you up to date current information to keep you current in your practice. Online CME is very helpful as well as current case studies.
Employees in support postiions in the main office are polite and anxious and helpful. This company wants you to be successful in your current position.

    Cons

Off hours computer work after a long day makes it longer be prepared. This company compensates well but the expectations are high and you are expected to meet them.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Risk management should be more responsive to providers concerns regarding questions about current malpractice issues in the state the provider is working in. The support is too little too late. You need to do your own research or keep your own current contacts with your former malpractice carrier. Malpractice varies greatly from state to state and it seems risk management could have a little more sense of urgency. When a provider calls with a concern they need an answer. A week or two weeks later doesn't cut it. The largest malpractice carrier in our state has lawyers in house so when you call with a concern you are immediately connected with counsel. This helps greatly with correct documentation in the medial record as well as advice.

I have been working at Team Health full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Plenty of room for growth and / or leadership positions. This company is quite large and offers many different geographic locals to practice. The benefits are priced well and there are plenty of retirement options as well.

    Cons

It is a large company. There seems to be a great deal of turn over of entry level supporting staff (schedulers, benefits and HR people). This often makes communications with corporate challenging. They can be slow to make changes.
Front line leadership, as with many big companies, seems to be trying to climb the corporate health care ladder. It sometimes leads to bad or over-zealous leaders. There's been a recent restructuring of upper level management that may make changes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Recruit and retain experience. Keep salaries and benefits competitive.

I worked at Team Health full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Big corporation back up at ECMC.

    Cons

Work load is insane for amount of pay. Motto seemed to be "pass the buck". Micro management with only decent benefits. They care more about the dollar amount than the patients or employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Reevaluate the management at ECMC Hospitalist division. You have had so much turn over in the last year due to it. And your only response to former employees complaints is to promote the individual in question.
