Target Canada over projected sales

Price Accuracy (Current Employee)

I have been working at Target full-time for less than a year

ProsEarly hours are great. Team members all pull together to get the job done. Very clean store and doesn't smell like Walmart or Zellers. People compare it to both of them as well as Target in the states and that is not fair.

ConsWas hired full time.Hours have been cut by 50%.ie:50 hrs workload 12 hours scheduled.I have been deceived. Hope it all comes around or they will lose a lot of good people. Not enough selection(softlines) for older people or over sized people. Not enough men's shoes.

Advice to Senior ManagementCompare workload to scheduling.

Training

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Target part-time for less than a year

ProsFAST AND FRIENDLY. Great team spirit promoted and lots of recognition for people, doing their jobs.
I am most impressed at the hiring demographics, I believe that nearly every age (by decade) is represented, which is fantastic to see a company have that knid of hiring practice.

ConsEarly days still, but I found the proposed trainig for my position and the actual training that was done were not the same, and the quaility was not there. I primarily through my own curisoity to learn taught myself how to use the equipment required in my area and trouble shooted many issues through trail and error. The theory based training on the compouter is very dry and without ensuring a test of your knowledge it is very hard to believe all staff read the required training material. It would better if the reading was accompained with actual practical hands on training.
Pay and hours have been disappointing.
