I have been working at Target full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Days fly by, you are surrounded by a great team and culture, there is opportunity for growth, the benefits are excellent, a lot of learning potential, not stuck in a daily routine, engage and inspire others, give back to the community

    Cons

I think work-life balance would be the biggest issue. Days are not 8 hrs, but rather often 10 hours, if not more (and you do not get any overtime). You also have to work 1 on 2 weekends.

I have been working at Target full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Good hire in new CEO. When its good its great. Tries to treat its team members well. Many people are striving to do the right thing in the workplace and for the team. Pay is typically top notch.

    Cons

The good leaders in stores are leaving. Leadership cycle of promotion rewards style and flash over substance and results. Senior leaders focused more on themselves than on making the company great or the business better. Senior management appears to be unrealistic to the needs of the store teams, the guest demands and the future of the organization. Most leaders outside the stores add little value to making the corrections necessary to return Target to its past success.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Stop being short sighted, telling teams to do more with less resources and pandering to the companies Best Team Survey will not make the stores or teams successful. Fill the floor with trendy and more innovative items and actually have product and sizes available for our guests to purchase. Reward leaders for running great stores and for taking care of our teams and our guests rather than rewarding leaders who says the 'right' thing or are perky and fun. Your best leaders throughout the company are overlooked and often people are rewarded who over promise and can't deliver or who can deliver but at the expense of the team.

I have been working at Target part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Gives reasonable breaks and team culture is good. Raise every six months and communication between team members is good.

    Cons

Depends on workers and managers. Barely any chance for promotion. Work and life balance is tough during busy seasons. May work closing shifts and opening shift next day.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Team leaders could be more friendly.

I have been working at Target full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Early hours are great. Team members all pull together to get the job done. Very clean store and doesn't smell like Walmart or Zellers. People compare it to both of them as well as Target in the states and that is not fair.

    Cons

Was hired full time.Hours have been cut by 50%.ie:50 hrs workload 12 hours scheduled.I have been deceived. Hope it all comes around or they will lose a lot of good people. Not enough selection(softlines) for older people or over sized people. Not enough men's shoes.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Compare workload to scheduling.
