    I worked at TJ Maxx

    Pros

Easy job, can be fun, good benefits, good staffing levels, not a lot of mandatory overtime, only worked some weekends.

    Cons

Sexism in upper management, road blocks to try to advance, especially in the PA region, too many store managers who do not want to advance, so little opportunities for store management positions arise.

I have been working at TJ Maxx part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

You get a discount on clothing, and a chance to mingle and meet new people. The workplace culture is what will attract you to show up for work.

    Cons

Some challenges I came across were of course pay, but I got this job to supplement my income. Places like this should work on staff development and push toward better wages.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Figure out a way to motivate employees, who are paid less than nothing. I can't imagine a solution for that debacle.

    I worked at TJ Maxx

    Pros

The coworkers made the job enjoyable, otherwise it would have been just another job.

    Cons

The hours and compensation are not very good. There isnt a lot of room for upward movement to management without waiting several years.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Support the employees that are working hard to support a store they dont actually care that much about.

I worked at TJ Maxx part-time (more than a year)

    Pros

Manager was the best and made you feel like family. I had awesome coworkers and they work around your schedule. Very family oriented and understanding if you had to call in because your child was sick.

    Cons

Pay is minimum wage starting off. High turnover because of this.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Maybe up the pay rate to make it worth sticking around. It's hard enough these days to make ends meet.
