    Pros

Great people to work with; interesting/cutting edge project and technology; remarkably free of the normal organizational politics

    Cons

In our division, having IT issues dictated by the parent organization was less than ideal. Much of the test and lab environment is too diverse without adequate documentation or organization.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

good luck paying off the loans incurred in the takeover. Try to make production schedules be more reflective of reality.

    Pros

Used to be a nice place to work, some interesting challenges....

    Cons

After Vista Private Equity acquisition the company is no longer a good place to work. They fired hundreds of people after the acquisition. There is no clear strategy behind this decision, Vista just needed to reduce costs in order to pay for the huge amount of debt it incurred as result of the acquisition. There is also no clear strategy behind the product roadmap and the management team, which are ultimately responsible for the TIBCO failure, got promoted along the way.

I wouldn't advise buying TIBCO products as some of them might just disappear as Vista will decommission products that are not interesting for them.

In summary, Vista PE will make a lot of money and kill a great company along the way.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Too late for advice. They already messed up big time.

    Pros

Dynamic, cutting edge technology and a good group of people who work very hard and trying to make a difference in the world.

    Cons

A lot of uncertainty right now, but the company is going to emerge as a much stronger, focused organization in 6 months time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Focus on what the customer wants and what the company does well. Narrow product stack and regain profit margins.

    Pros

Not a lot to be positive on...the pay was ok and reasonable benefits

    Cons

Technology and products are old and outdated as are the management. Sales and marketing was failing and now with VC ownership this is not a fun place to work with little or zero career options

I have been working at TIBCO Software full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Honestly, can't think of one, except if you're looking for a place to settle down, and have no interest in work at all. The initial pay is too good (for the quality of people they hire) and work culture is relaxed. Work from home and off time is generally allowed.

    Cons

Generally awful people. Lot of B and C players in middle management, who are incapable of hiring good people, so the quality is going down all the time.
Apathetic attitude towards software ( because of 1st point).
No progress on career front. No objectivity in appraisal process, people-pleasing and boot licking rules over meritocracy. Perhaps the only company where mediocrity is celebrated.
    Lack of transparency.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Introduce stack ranking.
    Trim the middle management fat.
    Promote people from within.
Hire better people, pay them better. That's the only way to delivering good results (not paying less, and cost cutting which is short-term vision)
Have more all hands, take in more questions from employees.
