Current Employee – been working at TIBCO Software full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – Less formal structure to jobs - more opportunities to grow / demonstrate potential.
Poised at a good position in business, great growth yet to come.
Cons – Less flexibility to account for location-specific policies in a globally distributed company.
Slightly unclear technical strategy or vision of the company.
Advice to Senior Management – More consistency in vision and goals towards a longer term plan will help. Alignment of workforce to meet such goals with periodic review of performance.

Former Employee – worked at TIBCO Software full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – - Pockets of innovation and generally a good vision
- Solid sales force
- Well funded with good cash flow
- Very mature accounting and finance function
- Some very good customers due to the depth and breadth of its portfolio and lack of similar sized independent rivals
- Good place to start your career as there are lots of sideways progressions as long as it was not into management
Cons – - An anti-collaborative environment that encouraged conflict between regions, product groups and sales forces that belonged to each. Senior management was against matrix sales teams and double compensation thus causing a lot of time establishing who owned an international account or which product group should get the biggest split of large deals. The effects flowed down to the lower level employees.
- Guru centric management style and very much like a family-oriented culture. i.e. if you did as was asked for you by the CEO or his small circle or generals, you will end up getting favours and progress. A very top heavy management. i.e. leaving very few career progression opportunities for non-US employees. Furthermore, real authority was never really given to the lower level mangers and business decisions were always made by a very few people and US centric views of the world.
- No transparent nor peer based form of career management or performance feedback tied to base salary increases. This process was ah-hoc. No discussion or committee based ratings were taken into account. (Non-sales people)
Advice to Senior Management – The company needs to be less about the ego or wealth of a very few people and more about the customers, products and employees. The company seems to be a vehicle for the founders/management to justify their lavish lifestyle.

Current Employee – been working at TIBCO Software full-time for more than a year
Pros – - Good Employee Facilities
- Good Incentives as per the Market Standards
- Great Place for Self Learners and Explorers
Cons – - Technical Managers are least bothered about the personal Interests of their Sub-Ordinates.
- Technical Training which are scheduled are not always allowed to attend by the Manager's.
- No way by Employees to give feedback to the HR Team regarding their experience.
Advice to Senior Management – - Managers & Leads should be in touch with their subordinates who are also travelling to Client Locations. Finally they are representing you on the Client Site. Should talk to them regarding their priorities, set expectations for them(professionally/Technically as well as personally) and take at least Bi-Monthly updates from them about their work and achievements at Client locations.

Current Employee – been working at TIBCO Software full-time for more than 7 years
Pros – A twenty word minimum is difficult to meet in this area. It's like having to wirte a minimum number of word essay for Jr. High School where you just babble to increase the word count. TIBCO has nice working facilities and a lot of extremely competent and passionate over worked employees.TIBCO subsidizes the costs of the cafeteria and "feeds" their employees as rewards. Donuts and bagels on Friday, holiday lunches, holiday parties, summer picnics.
Cons – Over the years it has gotten worse with management at the top making the calls that should be handled by lower level more directly involved management . Almost dictatorship-like from the top. Senior Management is "taken care of" which is clear from company reports and company "filings". The hours required to get the job done are ridiculous due to the lack of needed headcount. There is little accountability for employees making the competent employees have to work harder. Yet workers are taken for granted and perceived to be a dime a dozen even though the "lip service" from the top is TIBCO employees are the best and most talented employees. HR is the worst...there is no support from them and their lack of realistic
"benchmarking" drives the low wages. Merit increases are never there yet there are record quarters. Reviews are a formality and here is little to no follow up regarding them. Acquisitions are handled poorly and it is clear by the feelings of the employees acquired. Morale is very bad throughout many organizations.
Advice to Senior Management – Use the old school "MBWA" - Management By Walking Around.
LISTEN to your employees, talk to them like they are humans not machines. REALLY read their quarterly meeting questions and don't hand pick the ones you want to "dance around". On second thought never mind, because the quarterly meeting are a thing of the past. IF Senior Management can't take the time to present at the meetings in person, don't expect employees to go to the meetings.
