Former Employee – worked at T. Rowe Price full-time for more than 8 years
Pros – Very people friendly company, with good work/life balance. Solid benefits, generous 401k matching.
Cons – Outside of NEV rated positions, they need to improve their bonus system to better reward high performers. Pay for performace doesn't hold up as well outside of NEV rated jobs.
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the great work

Former Employee – worked at T. Rowe Price
Pros – Good benefits, get a bonus every year
Cons – Work load is quite high with some of the worse salaries in the company. Starting out the call center reps can make more money than a RPC without half as much responsibility or impact on how the company is viewed by clients and the community
Advice to Senior Management – Standards are high in every other area. Why now increase pay so that they compensation is at least competitive with other companies

-Benefits are quite solid and management generally treats their employees well
-Lots of smart people to work with and a very well-respected organization in the industry
Cons – -Internal advancement opportunities have been stifled as the company has grown
-Can be stressful when market is performing poorly
Advice to Senior Management – Keep up the good work, but try to develop associates more

Current Employee – been working at T. Rowe Price as a contractor for less than a year
Pros – For the last six years, I commuted a total of three hours daily for a former employer. T. Rowe Price has a convenient location which has reduced my commute to a total of one (1) hour daily. My fellow colleagues are friendly and very helpful in a team player sense of style, while the overall department has a relaxed atomosphere. Moreover, the managers are approachable and a pleasure to work with.
Cons – As a new contracted employee, I have yet to discover any cons at this time. I'm certain, in time, I will have more feedback, however, I'm confident my review of the company will not change much.
Advice to Senior Management – Although I have yet to have interactions with many managers, the managers I have had an opportunity to work with is self-suffient and approachable. They also understand the need to maintain a fair work and life balance. Keep up the good work.

Former Employee – worked at T. Rowe Price full-time for more than a year
Pros – Access to great companies and management teams for equity research
Fun, hardworking culture
Forward thinking management team with good hiring practices and strategic thinking
Stable institution with great upward mobility for strong performers
Cons – Baltimore based
Still a bit of the frustrated jock culture
So large that you can't look at many small or mid cap stocks
Advice to Senior Management – A bit more diversity would make T Rowe a more attractive place to work.

Current Employee – been working at T. Rowe Price full-time for more than 3 years
Pros – Company reputation, strong Baltimore presense, industry leading, ethical, rooted in strong customer service.
Cons – Pay, overtime, open positions are managed with overtime consistently and even us associates can see it. Work life balance is impossible at all levels. Day to day job is becoming more and more demanding.
Advice to Senior Management – Customer service is one of our core values and something we do care about. To do that, we need to have staffing levels at a normal level. Work with your leadership staff to ensure they are focusing on the right things, so that we can work a normal day instead of OT consistently. Staffing should not be supplemented by requiring consitent OT of the staff(you should fill positions). Save money in other ways. We need to be able to and want to come to work refreshed for our customers. We understand there are times during the year when OT is needed, but day in and day out, is too much and it has been going on for too long. This is too good of a company to compromise. It's not too late to go back to the way we were when we knew leadership cared about us and we were important. It is in your control to put the right people in place or back in place to make it happen... there was a time when it was like that and it wasn't that long ago

Former Employee – worked at T. Rowe Price full-time
Pros – The entry level training is good, and the systems are intuitive and helpful. Good place to get your financial licenses.
Cons – Overtime in the support areas dictates your life. It's either so much that you work until dark every night and every Saturday; or it's very quiet and nothing much to do. Be ready for a lot of groupthink. The managers are almost always internal people who have been around for a long time, and no one wants to rock the boat.
Advice to Senior Management – Hire some new blood in your operations management. Creative and outside the box thinking can be incredibly helpful .

Current Employee – been working at T. Rowe Price full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Top rated mutual funds, client focused, lots of opportunity for movement. Company values are integrated throughout firm. Strong company brand.
Cons – Long hours for leadership, focus on requirements not necessarily needed in role over experience, skills and readiness for role. A more top down style from key decision makers vs. the collaborative style we were accustom to. Leaders feel like they have less and less of a say in decisions.
Advice to Senior Management – Look at recent changes in leadership strategy and determine what makes sense to the business and who is driving these decisions. If the broader team is not behind them, is there a reason? What is the real risk and are there better "creative solutions" that meet our needs and mitigate risk?
