Best place I've ever worked.

I worked at Sephora full-time for less than a year

Pros- Free make up (alllll the time)
- Amazing people to work with
- Great place to make professional contacts
- Fantastic training
- Good team environment
- Store discount

Cons- Pay is average if you're just starting out
- Even if you're not standing around doing nothing, management are very focused on you 'looking' busy - even if there's nothing to do/no customers
- When I quit, I was nothing to management any more, even though they were super lovely to me before

The most amazing company I've ever had the pleasure of working for.

I worked at Sephora full-time for more than a year

ProsUnsurpassed training programs.
Opportunities to travel to attend trainings are often (and paid for)
TONS of free product (gratis) given to you all the time. (You will never have to buy beauty products again, no matter if you're full time or part time; seasonal employees sometimes are left out of the gratis.)
You will be able to move up very quickly within the company if you show your desire to.
Work-Life balance is one of their highest values, and it shows.

ConsStarting wage can seem low, especially if you are a trained makeup professional with credentials. I recommend this job to someone who does makeup as a passionate hobby, because if you go out and pay for an education in beauty school, you will not enjoy the compensation at Sephora.
That being said, someone who has a knack for makeup or skincare and has a background in customer service will love this job because all training is provided, its fun, and you really come out feeling like you received an education you should have paid for.

Prossephora was a company that pushed their cast to be the best the can, the inner growth is amazing, and most stores have a very low turn over rate due to the way the company treats their cast.

ConsPolitics... acting a way that feels a bit "cookie cutter" if you want to grow you have to put yourself in a box and be okay with going through the motions.

Advice to Senior ManagementDont Hire an External Store director for a new store.

ProsCompetetive pay, fun work environment, there's a raise in salary each year depending on performance. They also plan for your development within the company and offer you opportunities to move up in rank.

ConsVery hard to move up within the store. More likely than not you would need to be transferred to another location.
