    Pros

Cadillac healthcare, Pension plan, competitive pay equals a great long term employer in the Americas. Flexible and lean organizational structure means the employees define a lot of what they do.

    Cons

Some job functions are poorly defined, and Italian culture trickles down into the Americas (not always in a good way)

  2. International experience, state-of-the-art projects but economic crisis feeling.

    Pros

An environment ideal for senior citizens or those near retirement age... Its relaxed MNC with majority of employees (expertise) working at least 20 years in the company.

    Cons

Silo and people not willing to change (move out of their comfort zone). An environment where the French (rather the non Asians) get their prorities while the Asian is like a second class... Employees have no ownership and Managers were weak.. Poor leadership skills and dependance of the senior manangement for decsision. HR still acting in the past era..like watch dog.

    Advice to Management

Focus on human capital to build up the business. Do not just push for numbers.

    Pros

The local design site culture is professional but informal, a small, tightly knit team of Asic Designers, but backed by a robust set of ASIC design tools, flows, libraries, and expertise from their other corporate locations. Immediate management was accessible and easy to work with.

    Cons

The local design site seemed like a distant outpost from the corporate center. Critical project resources were shared across multiple time-zones and continents, and required frequent negotiation to get through critical resource crunches.

    Advice to Management

During the time I worked there, corporate management did not have a big presence, and it was not clear how our site contributed into the corporate vision or growth strategy.

    Pros

Lots of good engineers and interesting work. Flexible working time and reasonable rates of pay.

    Cons

ST has lots of Politics and bad management. Lack of empowerment and lots of management overhead. It's a shame as the engineers are great.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of all the layers, empower your staff.

    Pros

opportunities to acquire experience in different fields of the industry, opportunities to move internationally

    Cons

poor carreer management, poor HR. Beware people from Europe expecially Italian and French moves quicker in uppermanagement positions. Some sites are under control of Italians others from French. Too much politics and bureaucracy. Too much slow decision procprocesses. Management don't take responsibility as is supposed to do.

    Advice to Management

A complete turnaround of the top management staff, and donw to middle management needed. Strategy is failing and the company consistently loose market share.
