I have been working at SITA full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    Good group of people (staff)
    Good facilities, very modern

    Cons

Management is the worst I have ever worked for, they seem lost half the time.
Treat their people as numbers, plugs to fill holes

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Senior management needs to reign in their middle management, stop treating staff as dispensable garbage. Staff has no say in anything, management controls with a whip and chair, this is no way to run a global company.

I have been working at SITA

    Pros

Provide some flexible hours to balance the work life as well as social life. Good way for junior developers to gain some experience.

    Cons

Poor documentation, development management, team management and software development process being applied in within the company. Some of the people are competent or qualified to do what they are suppose to do.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Needs improvement to become organized and be a proper software development company. Too many things open for errors where it can be minimized as much as possible.

I have been working at SITA full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Looks good on the C.V. and currently they pay health insurance in some territories.
Great exposure to international teams and a very diverse set of skills (line management and customer facing members).
Initial pay is good but better negotiate hard on day one because you will quickly become a number when it comes to review in yr 2 and beyond

    Cons

If you are aligned with the little clique that seems to do no wrong and suffer no consequence of outrageously inward looking and self ingratiating policies you will do well.
You will occasionally come across true professionals who care about solutions and the people in their care, but this will be increasingly rare.
A staggering ability to embark upon organizational change every 12mths and then abort half way through leaving whole groups without the people they need and no way to hire due to a headcount freeze from GVA.
A HR system that is totally ineffectual and makes no effort to retain talent.
Senior managers with no experience in the fields they manage.
Get in and out while this dinosaur still survives as the pay and accountability around performance is poorly managed.
Invisible CEO unless you are based in Europe

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Walk the floor, be accountable and transparent, ...just start again with the HR department.
If you promise to do something like improve tools and policies then follow through and get out of the ivory silos and walk amongst the enormous pool of talent you already have.
Compliance is not commitment, think what is the problem to solve not what is the box to tick.

I have been working at SITA full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

SITA allows constant opportunities for interaction with people from diverse nationalities and backgrounds and, if your position allows, travel opportunities across the globe. Lots of variety -- can be very exciting.

    Cons

SITA has a complete lack of checks and balances in management positions and has had more than one issue with corruption from middle management on up through the C level ranks. This creates miserable fallout for everyone down the line. Corporate HQ is in Europe and they are often out of touch with what goes on in the Americas.

I worked at SITA as a contractor for more than a year

    Pros

The hourly rate was nice and so was the view from the office.

    Cons

My co-workers weren't seen as very high caliber.

    Pros

    Cons

Keep the politics aside and get on with the real job
