Current Employee – been working at Rocky Mountain Chocolate

ProsWe have owner our chocolate factory for almost four years and were able to pay it off in two with the profits it has created. It is an easy business model and the franchisor allows a lot of freedoms.

ConsGetting fat from all the chocolate we eat!! No seriously, there are not many cons.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Halifax, NS

Former Employee – worked at Rocky Mountain Chocolate

ProsIt was fun! People are happy when you sell them chocolate, and are generally very interested, and not very cranky. And when they are, it's ridiculous so you don't care, really.

ConsThe managers and owners didn't actually know anything about the business. The night supervisor and myself and the girls, seemed to be the only ones who knew what was up.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop treating the franchises like crap.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Current Employee – been working at Rocky Mountain Chocolate full-time for more than a year

ProsThe culture is laid back and fun.
You get to eat candy at work.
You make sweets all day.

ConsYou wil get sick of chocolate after you've put on a few pounds.
You can get pretty board in the off season.
Not a career job.

Advice to Senior ManagementLead by example- if you work hard, so will the underdogs

Denver, CO (US)

Former Employee – worked at Rocky Mountain Chocolate

ProsYou get to eat all the chocolate you want! As a franchise I had a great amount of influence on all aspects of our store.

ConsMost locations are franchises, and therfore you are at the beck and call of your owner. I have worked for two RMCF stores and the ownership made the difference. At my last position in Denver I was overworked, underpaid and underappreciated!

Advice to Senior ManagementAs a Company RMCF has little intervention at the store level, I would advise them to have a training seminar for their owners in order to provide them a brief glimpse as to what their responsibilities will entail.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
