Former Employee - Pharmacy Associate in Lapeer, MI (US)

I worked at Rite Aid part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I loved my coworkers and the fast pace of the pharmacy. The pharmacist were compassionate and very understanding. They were always willing to help everyone.

    Cons

The upper management including district and regional managers did not treat associates kindly. Hours were always being cut and employees were not able to keep up at times. The pay was awful. The customers are in the hands of the pharmacy technicians and the pharmacist and the pay could be higher. The employees deal with a lot on a daily basis and aren't paid appropriately. There is a high turnover right for pharmacy technicians because people can't the stress.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Higher pay and higher pay for pharmacy technicians.

I have been working at Rite Aid full-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule, friendly staff, 20% employee discount, there are many opportunities to advance within the company, and there are many opportunities to help people.

    Cons

No standards, no respect among employees. For the amount to work you do, you are not compensated enough. There is a high turnover as a result of all this so training isn't consistent.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep employees happy by allotting a fair number of staff hours to adequately complete tasks.
