I have been working at Rexam (more than a year)

    Pros

The pay is pretty good compared to market value. There is flex time and some work from home opportunities. Good employees at the lower levels.

    Cons

The company as a whole lacks processes to make them more attractive. They do not value their employees. They do not like for employees to speak up. They want you to remain silent and do as your told. They lack responsibility and accountability in many aspects. Too lean in staff to be efficient. Too many decisions made at the management level who have no idea how it affects the everyday employee.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Learn to value your employees. Encourage employees to speak up and give input where they feel things can improve. Hire people to improve the lack of processes. Encourage employees to take true ownership of issues that exist for improvement. Research how changes affect the average employee before making things a global standard.

    Pros

Great environment. Very interesting technologies, tools and knowledges to learn. Great people unless they were forced to follow up the "Rexam Way". Impressive attempts to bilding up top-down 2way communication with the employees. Good pay.

    Cons

Absolutely corrupted integrity of the core management team in some of the local offices.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Start doing of what you declare. Stop to lie. Be humanly honset at least. Don't set on fire the people who do care about the company benefits prior to your manager's benefits.

I worked at Rexam full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

There are nice people in all areas of the organization and interesting products being produced. A global organization that offers the chance to interact in different languages and with various cultures.

    Cons

Career opportunities can be limited if you are not interested in moving to other areas/ locations, as the there are not too many positions in a given area due to automation and slim staffing. Constructive criticism on your performance is never direct and requires you to read into the feedback you receive.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Timely communication on work performance and clear direction, as to how the individual can provide additional value to the organization, would assist in employee retention.
