Current Employee – been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – level of interaction with peers is high
I have a great manager
high morale and freq company-wide "pats on the back" (ie parties)
Cons – salary is way below average of both pharma and location
supervisors don't listen to their employees
so much growth that loyal and long term employees are leaving because new employees are being hired above them at higher salaries with equivalent experience.
Advice to Senior Management – please pay more or your long term staff with jump ship when big pharma gets back on its feet.

Current Employee – been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – Scientifically, Regeneron is an exciting place to work. Good ideas get support, even if they shake things up, and maveric ideas are always considered, and even encouraged. Regeneron combines the best aspects of academia (scientific curiosity, creativity and scientific rigour) with the best aspects of the biotech industry (solving real problems with immediate impact).
Cons – Sometimes the amount of independence translates into a lack of guidance, and the flexibility of the company can seem disorganized. Also, compensation and benefits are somewhat below industry standards.
Advice to Senior Management – Improve communication, at the management level and between departments.

Former Employee – worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – Regeneron is a great and friendly place to work. THere is room for growth, the work culture values creativity. It is non-beaurocratic.
Cons – For me, there was no other downside aside from the fact that I was not a biology major so I had no reason to work there.
Advice to Senior Management – All the supervisors I've had were smart, friendly, helpful, and always willing to teach you. You learn alot by working there.

Former Employee – worked at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – Some good people; excellent pipeline; upper mgt exceptional in gaining funding and promoting R&D
Cons – Upper mgt dislikes Clin Ops, pay is low Schleifer is proud of his 'challenging envirnoment' which in this case means drive them till they drop, threaten- don't encourage or supprt, and let them drop at their desks.
Advice to Senior Management – Get some experienced managers in Clin Ops, listen to them and let them manage.

Current Employee – been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – Exciting place to work with the current pipeline. Growing very rapidly. Overall morale is high. Intelligent, hard working team players. Good work life balance, quarterly parties.
Cons – Compensation poor especially considering cost of living of the area. With all the rapid growth there is a lot of pressure with deadlines. Only been here a year or so and am a bit unclear for career advancement/growth.
Advice to Senior Management – Need to work on compensation since the sentiment is that people will start jumping ship to big pharma when they start hiring again.

Current Employee – been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – great science, many agents in pipeline, good deal making skills by senior management, always attempting to get drugs into clinical as soon as possible
Cons – dictatorial management, total micro-management, virtual leadership, poor communication of decisions made by senior management, little acknowledgement of accomplishments, no trust of employees,
Advice to Senior Management – Delegate more responsibility, empower employees, develop formal lines of communication, adopt best industry practices, spend more time developing a strategic vision of company and less time micro-managing employees, trust the experts you have hired, don't take as manay short-cuts

Current Employee – been working at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Pros – Great pipeline, great science, great sense of comraderie within most departments. Everyone has an incredible work ethic...most employees are team players. High corporate ethics throughout the company. Overall an excellent place to work...great sense of pride.
Cons – Poor work-life balance in many departments (however, your contributions are definitely recognized and appreciated)...long hours are the norm here. Benefits are good, but compensation is lacking compared to big pharma.
Advice to Senior Management – Be prepared to better compensate your employees if you get another drug or two FDA approved -- senior management and scientists (PhDs) are compensated fairly now, but be prepared to better compensate the talent that does the brunt of the work.
