Houston, TX (US)

Current Employee – been working at RGIS full-time for more than a year

ProsYou get to work with some fun people.

ConsYou may not get the hours you need to pay your bills.

Advice to Senior ManagementUse the options that you give the employees. If you say be dressed a certain way and some employees are not, send them home. If you don't want tattoos showing then follow your own rules about it.

Toronto, ON

Current Employee – been working at RGIS part-time for more than 7 years

ProsFlexible schedules. Different work locations every day.

ConsLess hours if your availability time is morning shift. No specific work hours every week.
They can always cancel your scheduled shift without givimg any other work schedule.
Not a good job for those people looking for a full time job. Some area managers have favoritism with his/her team members.

Advice to Senior ManagementDon't just base the APH of an auditor with the salary increase you give. There are some auditors that work hard and get those hard areas to count. While some "Top guns" get those easy to count areas wherein they can achieve higher APH.

Oshawa, ON

Former Employee – worked at RGIS part-time for less than a year

Pros-It is a job (better than having no income)
-3 hour pay minimum (if your shift is under 3 hours, you get paid for 3)
-Some kind hearted employees
-Easy work

Cons-Obscure hours (early mornings, late nights, long days)
-Often only 1 break is allowed
-Favouritism in the company between managers and employees
-Repetitive
-Impersonal (much communication is done through email)
-Rude management
-Competitive employees rather than team work
-Difficult to find working equipment

Advice to Senior ManagementProvide employees with the opportunity to voice their opinions without repercussions. Provide better training for new employees. Ensure schedules are balanced.

Mint Hill, NC (US)

Current Employee – been working at RGIS part-time for less than a year

ProsFriendly people, easy work, decent pay. Excellent summer job for a teenager or college student .Great job if you are looking to supplement your income. If you can work production you have a great chance to make decent money.

ConsTraveling long distances to do four or 5 hours worth of work, no mileage compensation, scare tactics. Manager told us at training that people from corporate were sitting and watching us through a security camera in the ceiling of the store. Not a good job for someone needing full time hours and benefits. One break per shift. Work can be tiring at times. Not a good position for someone with health issues This is not an ideal job if you have small children because sometimes you have to work 3rd shift.

Advice to Senior ManagementStop the scare tactics and do not talk to me about my former job which is your competitor. My former employer used to work for RGIS and I was told the reasons that he left/ was terminated. None of my business. Thoughts like that need to be kept to one's self. Don't assume all people who come to work for you are desperate or stupid. Scare tactics are childish and unprofessional. Your 10 keys are hard to use.

Tempe, AZ (US)

Current Employee – been working at RGIS part-time for more than 7 years

ProsFlexible schedule for part time employees. Varied work locations so not too repetitive. Fairly easy work most of the time.

ConsLittle opportunity for advancement; managers tend to keep there positions for a long time. No rewards or recognition for being a dependable, hard worker. Hourly pay cap. Once you reach top tier, no more raises. Productivity expectations are sometimes unreasonable. Possible long drives for only a few hours of work; basically working for gas in those situations. Demotions and pay cuts are possible if you don't meet quarterly expectations.

Advice to Senior ManagementRemove pay cap and reward your dependable workers.

Hartford, CT (US)

Former Employee – worked at RGIS part-time for less than a year

Pros-Paid training, hotel, travel, decent pay, chance for pay increases, and it's an easy job. If your car gets good gas mileage then I recommend driving yourself. Their travel pay is an easy way to make some extra money and it's nice to have your own transportation while you're away from home.

ConsThey lay you off May - June 15th. There could have been more compensation for being on the road 4 days out of the week and having to share a hotel room with someone you may not know. Personally, I don't get excited to share a hotel room with a stranger after working a long day and not getting much sleep.

Overland Park, KS (US)

Former Employee – worked at RGIS part-time for more than 7 years

ProsAn employee could set their own days and hours of availability and there was room to move up if desired.

ConsYou need to 10key and count pretty quickly and counting can be hard on your knees at times, good luck!

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement needs to develop better communication within the company, especially w/new, lower level employees and they need better benefits.

Current Employee – been working at RGIS part-time

ProsI gained experience in different areas of the company while working for this company by first being an inventory auditor, then a team leader and finally, a part-time secretary. I also enjoyed being able to meet a great amount of people and see many different towns while traveling out of town to do inventories.

ConsI would say that the only downsides of working at RGIS would be that sometimes the hours are either very early in the morning or late at night when stores are closed. Also, not all stores have monthly inventories, some do them quarterly, others do them semi-annually and yet there are the ones who only do them yearly in January. This makes the beginning of the year very busy for the company but also makes their employees very weary from being stretched so thin, sometimes with little time between stores. Then other times of the year are really slow like October through December is one slow time that I remember.

Advice to Senior ManagementOnly positive things to say hear... you all do the best you can at running an efficient inventory while maintaining a balance that satisfies both the clients and the employees.

ProsYou will likely form close bonds with your coworkers, there is great potential for getting more hours of work, and theoretically there is room for advancement.

ConsYou will get yelled at. The schedule is unreliable--you might be scheduled for twenty, but a store is canceled, other stores finish faster, and you get fifteen. Alternatively, you are scheduled for twenty and one runs long, and you end up with an additional ten hours in one store. Shift start times can range from 0230 to 2100. You will only get your schedule in Saturday-Friday lumps, and only one week in advance. Any absences must be called in at least twenty one days in advance--failure to do so can result in termination. You will get yelled at.

Advice to Senior ManagementManagement should really yell less at the employees, especially when even management admits that there was no mistake or error in the employees actions.
